    My bad.

The TT isn't a great car BTW.

A slightly older Carrera 4 Cab for the same money OTOH

Ah. A closer look reveals that you are correct. Although they don't
use normal descriptive terms like Saloon and Estate, just to confuse,
and the only pics I saw looked like an estate.
    Indeed.

    In what way?
Well that's a whole different ballgame. Don't forget that the main
criterion here is a girly convertible - if it's good for me to drive
too then great, but we're not really wanting an ultimate drivers car.
    Eh?

Oh, he dislikes Porche owners, right? TBH I was always pretty much in
    agreement...

OIC. So you don't subscribe to the view that all Porsche owners are
    cunts then? Oh, hang on...

Fucksake. I think the R36 is around chf550 per year, and I thought
    that a lot.

  7. That's only a little less than I pay for the A6 avant here.

    Per quarter.

Wha? In specific car tax? That's fucking outrageous.

  9. "Wegenbelasting" literally translated "Roadtax" - which is calculated
on the age/weight/fueltype of the vehicle and payable directly to the
    tax authorities.

The Audi is late 2001 (2002 model) 2.5tdi.

By comparison, the (2006) Mini Cooper S (Petrol, duh) comes to approx
    EUR140 per quarter.

Not to mention the horrific purchase price of (new) cars here, due to
'luxury tax' on top of the VAT. Still, it keeps the used car market
eye wateringly expensive too. From a dealer a 2007/8 TT 3.2 v6 with
20k km on the clock will cost you EUR 45k (60k CHF).

That can't be true because I've sold mine. Maybe it should be "all
    cunts have owned a BMW"?

Getting closer, I think. Would you include (part) owners of BMW clones?

I thought it was that you *drove* like a ****, so might as well have a
    BMW.

Whoops, must improve my Dutch. It's the first registration tax that's
€5k, the annual tax is "only" about €1500.

  16. "Wegenbelasting" which literally translates to "Roadtax". It's based on
the weight and fuel type (possible age as well).

    2001 A6 2.5 tdi Avant = circa 430 eur p/q.
    2006 Mini Cooper S = circa 130 eur p/q.

Not to mention the "luxury tax" that's added to some(most?) car prices,
on top of the VAT when buying new. Still, at least this helps to keep
the used car prices up. A 2007/8 TT 3.2 v6 with 20k km on the clock
will set you back about 45k here (60k chf).

    That's my car!

The tax is the least of my worries though: it's the cost of the servicing.
Just about to pay £699 to have the cambelts done.

I'm not sure about red i's but it does have quattro and the 180bhp engine.
There was a facelift that year, mine is one of the old ones.

Seems about right. £570 from an independent on the GT. Rather a lot more
    from a dealer.
