Do they work on the continent?

Like, for example, using them to get to a certain UKRMer's B&B for a
    weekend of dirt-bike riding?

Or even taking a long weekend at the Nurburgring.

That's for cars leased from Arval, though. My car isn't, I just have an
    Arval / Allstar card.

I can't help but think that fuelling in SW France may be considered to
be taking the piss out of the private fuel benefit, though.

You'll have hell convincing them you just happened to stop there on your
    commute...

    Heh.

I don't commute. I 'work in the field'.

If only. I mostly have to visit and hand out bollockings to pikeymarket
    managers.

    Bugger.

In that case, I do wonder if it's actually worth paying the tax bill.

These days, also pretty much a no.

The sweet spot in company cars used to be over 2 litre e4 compliant
diesels, until last year, now there really isn't a sweet spot any more,
and co. cars with fuel cards only break even if you do 15K of private
    mileage a year.

The one that still does work is company paying fuel but you owning the
car, as then you're taxed just on 40% of the real fuel cost... hardly
    anywhere does that though.

I'll be opting out when my 4 years lease on this one is through.. and
probably buying it, as it'll be a well depreciated diesel with FSH.

ITYF that the accepted fuel card etiquette in this situation is to fill the
car this side of the channel, then buy your own whilst abroad, otherwise
your employer may well consider it a piss take.
