FOAK: Air Leak or fuel leak?

The R1 isn't well. Its developed either a fuel leak/problem or
possible air leak. On a few occassions now its seemed to ride like its
fuel starved (like its being strangled), then it just dies when I stop,
no tick over, start it up again and it dies. If I leave it to cool
down for a few mins it starts up fine, but yesterday it carried on
feeling 'odd' ie like not enought fuel/air was getting through and it
was stuttery.

Any ideas? or thoughts? Is there anything simple I can check, I'm not
sure what I can do myself (bugger all probably!) Or whether someone
who knows and is local enough could pop over & check it out? (beer
tokens in exchange of course).

You sir are a star, and after discussion with Statto, that seems to be
a good theory. When it went over it crashed on its lhs and may indeed
be blocked. Cheers muchly.

Two year warranty ran out on 7th April !!

 

It never showed any warnng lights or error lights at all, but its
currently at Frasers being sorted out. The Throttle Position Sensor
went, so it was a b*t$h to ride and fingers crossed may be sorted out
by Friday morning when I head off to Cornwall for a few days!
Otherwise its a pillion weekend for me(and occasionally for t'other
half who's happy to pillion as well).
