FOAK: advice

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Grimley_Feindish, Aug 1, 2005.

  1. It's that time of year again when I start thinking about changing bikes and
the conclusion I've come to is that a KTM LC4 or Duke II might suit what I
enjoy doing more, namley blatting about down bumpy B roads and minor A
roads. The 10 is a great bike but not really suited for proper back roads
and I'm either going to end up losing my licence on the main roads or having
a prang elswhere. I can't afford to give it the track time it deserves and
    TBH probably wouldn't want to.

Having looked about I think for what I could get for my 10 I'd be able to
buy a new Duke or a nearly new LC4. Has anybody got any experience of these
bikes (I had a blast on my XT350 although I realise they are probably worlds
apart from it) or any recomendations for similar? Obviously I'd want to
arrange a test ride before considering a purchase but I'm always interested
in other peoples opinions/experiences (well mostly any way).

Whats the going rate for a 1 year old ZX10r with 4.5k on the clock, FSH and
balance of warranty - I thought about £6500 looking at whats about?

  2. I'd say less than that when you can get a new one, with an alarm, on
three years interest free credit for 7.5K

  5. Don't be fucking stupid.
I quite like Ginge's posts, I'd like him to be around here a while longer.

Being able to use the throttle in moderation is hardly a skill I've yet
to master. I'm not super keen on the 10R though, when I sat on one it
felt too small.. if only they were doing such a deal on K4 gixxers.

Actually, it was *last* year's hooligan handful. This year it's the
K5. Next year there's a new Kawasaki, which, I suspect, might just be
the green MotoGP bike with lights and a number plate.

Wouldn't be the first time such a thing has been promised, but
previous efforts (RGV, RD500, etc.) have always dissapointed. Still,
    be fun if it happens.
