    First minger, that is.

Spotted a couple of gurlies on the pavement when obeying the 30 limit
in the village. Cold tyres or not, already in second, flick the
clutch and up she comes. Lovely, for about 30 metres when a pothole
happened under the rear end ... ;-)

    I feel warm all over.

I took my Gixxer out today, the first time for about six weeks. After
the first tentative miles we got reacquainted. even though it was damp I
kept it up. I scuffed my waterproof at the knee even though the bike was
sliding out a bit. I didn't attempt any stoppies though. What a hoon. I
    love that bike.

  9. Nice.

Going home today, little straight bit of road, opened the throttle a
bit over-enthusiastically and got my first unintentional
    power-wheelie. Only a small one, but it's a start.

    <sulk> I only got wheelspin.

And embarrassingly I got overtaken by a Nissan Micra on the motorway.

Probably what'd be more embaressing would be if you went head to head in a
race type thingy with my mate's Peugot 205.
He's had all sorts of truly stupid things done to it including fitting a
    nitrous kit.
Apparently he goes toe to toe with superbikes in it.
I wouldn't know if that's actually true though cos there's no way I'm ever
    getting in that crazy chariot!
Mind you, I've got another buddy who used to think that his 1.3 Astra would
hold its own against a ZZR... strange person :)

    In my defence...

....I don't go above 80 on motorways as it's one of the places I reckon
you're most likely to get nicked. Especially the new bit of the
M42/M6 Toll where I commute. So I just potter along at 75/80 whether
I'm in the car or on the bike.

If someone in a Micra wants to thrap it up to it's maximum to overtake
then it's their licence and their fuel consumption.

Bring him to a ukrm meet, I'm sure we can prove him wrong or if we
    can't, have some fun.

Heh :) That'd be funny... and he's the sort of bloke that would most likely
be well up for it too.
