Yes, you *are* the really odd one, aren't you? But you don't stand out
from the ukrm crowd, you're right in the thick of *that* mess.

Who gives a cold rat's ass about trivial problems that you've already
    solved?

If you want to meet your Limey friends and talk Polari in a gay pub,
why don't you just *do that*?

BTDTGTTS - see my answer above.
Yup - had me tearing out hair when it happened to me.
Then I remembered the cause of a mysterious ticking behind the dash
of an MGA many moons ago.

    Heh.

No, it's the reason (apparently) that crn (apparently) lives several
hours behind everybody else in the froup.

Oddly, only he seems to be affected. I'm really not sure why.

I am not anal enough to study every post in a thread then go back and
compose replies. Its only usenet. Get a life.

lambretta that has all the symptoms of low tyre pressures when they're
    spot on"[1]

Not unusual - MZs have a habit of chewing their drive bushes (plastic,
pennies for a new bush thingy), they also went quiet at higher speeds.

Had a couple of cars with ticking speedos as the cable flapped about in
the speedo head - tightening it up usually fixed it.

The XS400 I had made a similar noise but I couldn't be arsed to
    investigate.
