You know if ebay had a 'report dodgey auction' button, it would make it
a lot more useful. Im guessing the yellow one is the geniune article.

 

why they both say pick up so you can see the bike and only a fool
would send the money over first before going to see the bike

So we've got two bikes, one a yellow 2001 sv650
and the other a red 2000 sv650sy with lots of
stickers, both of which say "local pickup only,
no postage" and both prefer cash. So presumably
you get to see the bike before you pay for it,
and if you're smart you can do a quick check
on the serial numbers if you're organised
(or if you bother contacting the seller).

So why is it dodgy?

 

I'm guessing that it's because the descriptions are almost exactly the
same, down to spelling "service" incorrectly.
Bit strange.

 

Because they have almost exactly the same text. The yellow one states:

"The remus end can is street legal and gives of a great sound ,Lower
fairings are oficial Suzuki parts .I bought the bike from a reputable
dealer ,and have a full serivce history from time of buying . will chuck
in full set of maching yellow and black leathers and helmet also yellow
moto gp back bag leathers are size large."

While the red one claims:

"The remus end can is street legal and gives of a great sound.I bought
the bike from a reputable dealer ,and have a full serivce history from
time of buying . will chuck in full set of maching yellow and black
leathers and helmet also yellow moto gp back bag leathers are size large."

Im more inclined to think the yellow bike includes the yellow leather,
helmet and bags rather than the red one thats been attacked by a packet
of pannini stickers.

Plus this allegedly 2000 bike appears to have an 05 plate.

Ebay refuses to offer any way for people to report a dodgey auction. If
you go through the official route, clicking on the links to report a
dodgey auction, it just tells you they dont care if a listing rips off
another auction.

 

I don't think thats the case as I saw two FZR1000's on there a little while
back both using sim discriptions and pictures... after a while one was
pulled....

Um, Ebay makes its money by skimming off the top of any
completed auction. Therefore, from the shareholders perspective,
anything that stops an auction going to completion is "not good".
This would seem to include dodgy auctions where text is copied
between them. It's not at all profitable for companies to be
ethical, so why should Ebay lead the way?

don't buy it then or report it to EBay, **** all will get done by
telling us
