Ben Blaney opened his arsehole and spouted:
I attended for a short time with a lady friend but had to leave early
for work commitments (before the deluge)
neither of us are greebos or upside down heads (whatever thet means).
A lot of bikers lost their bikes and also one lost a 30grand bike (pos a
    tambourini).
If you think thats funny then maybe not ALL bikers are the nice people I
so far have had the pleasure of meeting.

    *I'm* NOT a power-ranger.

I just object to the idea propagated by the rufty tufties that you're
not a real biker unless you go to rallies.

Yeah 30K either very rich more money han sense of very stupid taking it
to a farmers field. IT was a freak storm in 3 hours we had over a months
worth of rain. It wasnt the amount, it was the speed at which it
arrived. I honestly thought i could have been in a tropical storm when
it hit newcastle. My garden flooded in less than 20 minutes, the rain
arrived faster than the drains could cope. But then again im in
newcastle maybe the coal was getting in the way.

And of course, those people wouldn't have been insured, no?
    1. Bikers are people - some nice, some not, some downright
    unpleasant. Just like other people.

    2. Taking the piss and laughing at adversity is how we get by here.
If you don't like it, you're in the wrong place.

Was it serious, tho? No one got hurt, some people and bikes got wet.
    I've heard of worse.

Considering the report of a 4ft wall of water pushing debris along it's
a miracle no deaths occurred. Then again after a night on the
booze/hash/speed etc it could *actually* have been a 6 inch torrent of
muddy water pushing down a few twigs.

Fucksake, how old are you again? Remember "Greasers'? 'Rockers',
perhaps? Well a Greebo is that, only from ten years later (1970s).
    Heh. The very thought.

  14. Wotcha.
    Each to their own.
As much as I enjoy camping, I still like to have the occasional week
    away in a hotel
( Manx G.P. in 2002 springs to mind ) if only to remind me of why I
    enjoy camping so much.
It would be a boring world if we all liked / did the same things.

Right - I'm off to give my upside down head a quick polish :)

The very fact that you've used the phrase "lady friend" means that
I've already marked you out as a bit of a twonk.
