I'm quite happy about being a part of Europe. The fact that north of
me = UK and south of me = Rest of Europe might help matters. It costs
me less to get a three day return to mainland Europe than it does to
get a cheap day return to London so it's in my interests to travel
    south.
Your EU passport should get you into pretty much any consulate/embassy
of any EU member state in the absence of your own. A bit like in
    Canada.

What're your thoughts on "Consensual" as in concensual sex? That one pisses
    me off big time.

Probably not as far as Blackburn and Darwen council. They've made it
mandatory for school caretakers (including men) teachers assistants
(including men) and many other employees (including men) to attend a course
on how to breast feed a sprog.

And at the taxpayers expense to boot.

There's always one fly in the ointment isn't there (couldn't think how to
include tack, head, canton, hoist, ensign, pennant or burgee!).

What, the fact that you can't decide how to spell it, you mean?

Other than that, I'm not sure what you think is wrong with it - it's a
seemingly normal derivation from 'consent', as far as I can tell. A
quick look-up reveals that it's been in use since 1754, with
'consensus' first appearing over a century later.

  16. It was only last week, surely?

I see Oz get to play their semi-final on Anzac Day. Given that
the Kiwis are in the semis too, I guess there's only one permutation that
wouldn't have had Anzacs playing on Anzac Day.

Another of my pet hates, that surfaced again today, from the same

  19. Well yes. But that's partly because it has a currency and a flag. It's
about 8/10th's of the way to being a legal country[1] - all it needs now
is an elected parliament and to abolish those pesky national bodies
that keep getting in the way.

it does, but in a legislative capacity only, no executive power, so
    it's not an actual "government".
