also like the look of the blackbird and the kawa.

Hide her up the street and then disappear down the road and pick her up
while they dont know about it and then put her back where you found her so
    they dont find out :)

Althrough i never had any problems with the test rides we did.

    Cheers

it all depends what bike shop ya go to, its a few hours before ya find a
bike shop that will give you a test ride around here mind you..

even when you throw 1000's of bucks infront of em and say im not going to
buy a bike unless i test ride it, new or 2nd hand.. they still tell ya to go
    get fugged..

i got the 600 because he said, yep lets go, take her with ya, and we went
off with him for a ride around albury and surrounds for 2 hours..

got back and brought the bike..

Tell them the bike has two seats and you want to test both of them but you'll
be happy to pay half the price they're asking for the bike of they only wish
to sell it with one seat.

Yep true no bike shop gives out test rides nowadays. A staff member from our
Local dealer recently took a bike out for a ride and it came back in a
little worse for the asking and don't know if he still has his job?? let
alone any joe blow off the street getting a ride.

My hub got his first ride on the CB1300 when he handed over the bank cheque
for 16 thou and they handed him the key but he sure sat on it in the
showroom a lot before he chose the bike he wanted to ride & purchase.

biggest load of crap i have heard

there is getting more and more dealers not carrying insurance now and the
    testride
is a bend it you've bought it type of arrangement
well he is more stupid than he looks then

the sales guy at actions told me that they havent had a VFR test bike for 3
    months
as they just sell themselves , and i told him there was no fucking way i was
    spending
18 large without a test ride and anyone that does is a fucking idiot , he
    just shrugged his shoulders
, which was fortunate as when i did get a test ride i didnt like the bike
    and confirmed my belief

MB, have you looked into the possibilty of taking a few holidays -
take you / SO to the nearest big smoke of a city - purchase bike of
    choice - ride home.

I dare say that there are a few good deals about.

I walked into a car dealership, and test rode 3 cars with out showing any
    form of id..

i walk into a bike shop, i sign contracts, show every form of id i have on
    me,

thats just to look at the bike..

i was told not to sit on the bikes at a bike shop once, neverloan get a
    ride.

he didnt get a sale surprizingly

even though i offered him RRP for a SV1000S
no test ride, wasnt allowed to sit on it, just look at it from a distance.

no way in hell would i buy a bike, new or and especially not 2nd hand with
    out a test ride.

out west its hell, they charge you more than rrp because they can

    no test rides

    cant sit on a bike

cant even look at em for free

oh somebody strike me down its hell

Has there, like, been an earthquake, and the Hay Plains have become
separated from the rest of Australia by a kilometre-wide chasm from
which noxious fumes spew forth into the atmosphere, limiting visibility
and making it too dangerous for aircraft to fly there?

Phone up some dealers in the big smoke.

No, but when you put it like that it doesn't sound like such a
    bad idea.

I walk into local bike shop. Chatting about summer jackets. Eye off a
new ZX10R. What's it like? It's a weapon. Wanna take it for a ride?

    Unfortunately, I had to decline.

no need, the baren wasteland of nothingness is all that is required to
    isolate us.

i drove to albury on a holliday to buy my cbr600f4i.

still have to find some money before i run off to buy a bike, loans are all
good and proper, but just need a bit of cash before you get a loan.

I did go on a holliday to teh goldcoast, and test rode an fjr1300 and a
blackbird, but never had the time to get the missus on teh back for her two
    cents..

wont be able to have a holliday for some time, dam goverment life..

The last ride day I was at, they had a form which committed me to paying up
to $2000 excess if I bent it. I presume that bike was insured as part of
    the importer's test fleet.

    Gary (ride report still pending)

Similar in Syd-en-ey. Mind you, there's a lot of
stuff on dealer's lots here that you don't need
to test ride to know that you ain't gonna buy it.
