Just whip the wheel off and go to the dealer in the car, or if you
haven't got one, get a lift or jump on a bus (taking the wheel with
    you).

    That is not true.

I stuck *your* finger to your forehead.

  3. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember (Roger)
    saying something like:
    Hey, it's what we do.

Fwiw, if it's a nail in a tubeless tyre, pull it out and stick it in
again with a coating of superglue. Blow the tyre up and leave it for a
couple of hours to see if it holds. Since your tyre depot is 20 miles
away, take it out round the block a few times - that way, if it deflates
you'll be able to get back home before total flatness.

If successful, ride to tyre depot carrying footpump, superglue and a
    pocketful of nails.

What you could do is buy a can of Tyreweld - works most of the time and
is almost guaranteed to get you to the tyre depot.

Well, it may have been abusive, but it was not unreasonable advice, for
anyone able to get over their own ego. To clarify on the revered Mr
Auvache's behalf, unless you've got excellent health insurance, it would
be foolish to rely on a bodged repair.

You could pick up a proper tubeless tyre repair kit for just a few quid -
under a tenner. This would enable you to patch it up enough to get to a
tyre place and get a proper repair. It's also a handy thing to have if
    you do much mileage.

Such temporary repairs are not intended to be used for very long or at
    high speed.

My personal (non-professional) experience with superglue suggests that it
won't withstand the flexing of a tyre. If you take it steady it *might*
hold long enough to get you a few miles. Or it might not.

I was pissed, I don't remember. I must have unstuck it pretty soon after
    though.

The important bit was that I didn't glue your eye shut. Superglue and
drunken people is not a wise combination, but as we were both pissed
that didn't dawn on us at the time.. :)

I used superglue to give myself Spock-style pointy ears for one of Owen and
Marina's parties. IIRC it lasted about an hour before I had to redo it.

And very fetching it looked too...
