Fit?

  1. Just had my induction at the local gym having been coerced into going by the
missus as I "should show her some support in her efforts to loose weight and
get fit". I was more than a little disappointed to find that riding a
motorbike regularly does not actually keep you in any shape whatsoever, no
matter how much you tell yourself it's a good way to workout :)

Three minutes on the step machine and I thought my legs were going to fall
off. Still, the fishfinger sandwich when I got home made me feel much
better, as I'm sure the rest of this bottle of wine will do as well.

Chocolate[1] and beer aids the recovery as well.

Your bikes must be way too reliable to keep you fit.

  5. Possibly, but my XT isn't fast enough to develop anything other than rage at
being overtaken on A roads by VW Polo's and my ten just causes spasms :)

Develop a strong allergy to gyms and convince her that you need to
start enduro training. It will wreck you (probably worse than the gym)
but there is wheels, an engine and real dirt involved.

  7. Far from convinced; I spent a lot of years in the gym [1], laid off it
after a while but find that hauling that big 'auld ZZR around the
country has kept the arms, shoulders and neck in pretty decent shape
anyway. Of course, cardiovascular goes to crap somewhat ;o)

[1] Yes, I know it doesn't show; I counteracted muscle development at
lunchtime with drinking far too much beer than was good for me at
    teatime.

When I used to use www.fitday.com they listed motorcycling as quite
    energetic.
