Turkey Day made it.. I made it too..Ain't life grand.. It is just a hoot..
The Green Vulcan sits on the patio under it's cover.. That puppy hasn't even
been cranked in almost two months.. The kitchen is empty and nobody is
stirring through the park, yet..For the first time in too many years to
remember, I won't be doing all the Turkey and fixins'.. Even though I made
the decision, myself.. I sure miss it..

The giblet gravy, cornbread dressing, candied sweet potatoes (none of those
furrin' yams for me) .. None of it is going to go on the table, today..
Some.. as far away as Guadalajara, Jal. have complimented and made an entire
meal of that dressing and gravy.. That stuff is good eatin'.. But .. not
this year.. All the good neighbors in the park have decided the Walker's
will do Thanksgiving dinner "out" this year.. Normally .. our little mobile
home is busy all day, while they drop by, to visit and fill up.. No
    leftovers in my fridge..

With all this free time today, I just might get a chance to watch another
one of those damned football games, that I always miss.. Nah. maybe there
will be a good movie or two..

Three of the bro's came by yesterday.. I heard those old cruisers when they
turned off the street into the park.. That rumble was unmistakable.. While I
listened to them making their way to my corner, my heart began to pound and
my pulse was like a machine gun.. I knew there'd be lots of coffee drank..
Sure enough.. they backed into my curb, parked 'em and commenced to take off
leathers.. Four cups of fresh coffee was waiting for them, when they made it
to the porch.. Tooman spoke first, after we settled in chairs.. "Damn..
son.. you don't look near as bad as ol' Quenten, when he got sick".. Well..
I never looked as bad as Quenten, even when he wasn't sick..

The conversation went on and we drank that pot of coffee, smoked a pack or
two.. They just dropped by, to wish me a Happy Thanksgiving .. Kinda nice of
them.. These guys are the cream.. They ride 'em like they just stole 'em..
For more than twenty years, we'd worked together, drank lots of beer and
tequila, chased a lot of women, and lived hard, but good.. We've rode a lot
of miles together and shared a lot of grief.. Sure got a lot of good and bad
times to reflect on.. These are the ones to depend on.. These are the ones
who will be there.. The good Lord has been good to all of us..

That's really what this day is all about .. It's Thanksgiving and all is
well with the world.. It occurred to me that these men never came just for
the good food.. All that was just there.. they came because that's what they
were supposed to do..This day was meant to be shared with the ones you care
about.. family, friends and all the ones you care about.. This day is meant
for each of us to remember all the things, in our lives that we've been
grateful for.. A good ride.. and the good friends that shared it with you..
That's what this day is all about..

Happy Thanksgiving, here's hoping that you will share something good with
    somebody you care about, today..

'preciate the kind words, Mr. Fright.. Thanks.. I dodged the bullet, this
time around.. Whew.. that doctor (ugly bitch) kept on talking about surgery
and I just flat out refused.. LOL.. Anyway, if everything keeps working, I
should be out and about real quick, if the weather co-operates.. Whooo..
hoooo.. days like this one sure makes it hard for me to stay off that ol'
    Vulcan.. dammit.. Regards..
