This is without a doubt the first time in my life this has happened!

I just checked the mailbox and found a letter with a return address
from the JP court in Pearsall. I was expecting to find a court date
inside. INSTEAD I found something a bit different!

Now, I got back from Mexico in plenty of time to call and speak to the
JP's court and arrange all the trials. I called before the date listed
and explained to the JP where I was at and told her what I was
needing...a jury trial. She instructed me to put it on the form and
mail it to her. I did. I went by the post office and filled out the
paperwork she asked for and put it in the mail. Instead of just
dropping a stamp on it, I paid the extra expense for certified/return
receipt. I made sure I checked "not guilty / jury trial" on the form.

A few days ago, I received the return receipt indicating they received
    and signed for the form.

Today, I found the letter in the mailbox. When I opened it, I found a
"dun" for $115 and saying my case has been deferred. It went on to say
if I met the criteria, the case would be dismissed. WTF? Oh, it gets
    better!

As I continued to read the two letters, it turns out the JP has found
me guilty of going 5mph over the speed limit and I was being ordered
to pay $115. If I had insurance and didn't get anymore tickets, the
case would be dismissed...and I'm sure I'd still be out the $115!

WTF is this? Is this what our justice system consists of these days?
Some ragged piece of shit on a highway to stop a bunch of people and
say they're speeding....then when the people request a jury trial, a
JP court sends them a letter finding them guilty before the trial?
HUH? WTF? I don't believe this is how it's going to work!

    Stay tuned!
