Just went out & saw how it's all done. Managed to stay (just) with a pair of
bandit 12's & hit *mumbly* mph. In the process managed to seriously redline
the bike in 2nd (about 12k), nearly did the same in 5th and was a informed
of some small blue oil puffs when I change down (on a bike with 47k I'll
    live with that).

Nothing really awsome or amazing to report, Just wanted to spread the news
as wide as my grin is . . .

I am always torn when reading post like this one, between saying things like,
"fantastic stuff and I hope the grin stays with you" and saying, "remember to
ride within your own (and your bike's limits) and not try to keep up with others
and you may live long enough to share your new grin."

    I must be getting old!

    I'll get me coat.

Advice worth remembering - the pair of bandit riders were moderatly
impressed that I kept up, but it was working me & the bike a little hard.
Was a first time out with perhaps a little something to prove. Maybe next
time I'll ride more for my comfort level instead of theirs

    Keep up the good work.
Can do better, must try harder.

If you are then so am I. It sounds like good advice to me, but then I
like to play by Baz Luhrman's rules of "Scare yourself every day".
