    Yo all;

Thanks for everyone's well wishes and cudos - It feels good to be back
    with the riding crowd.

Picked up the bike today from Full Boar - a side note - excellent service,
good people, good prices, a solid organization. The sales guy I worked
with was more interested in getting me on a bike I would enjoy and be
comfortable with, just not the most expensive yuppie-toy. His name is
Mike Guilfoil and is a pretty straight shooter.

Anyway, picked up the ride but had to cruise into work for a couple hours.
Got out of there and instead of cruising up 26 through Grapevine I opted
for 121. I found myself doing 80+ a couple times when I thought I was
doing low-60s. This bike is smooth.

Had some fun when as I pulled up behind someone they must have thought I
was a cop - a couple folks started pulling over. I guess they saw white
helmet, bright lights and said "oops, busted".

Cruised through the wide-open parking lot at work to get a better feel for
the bike. Note - a RK does not have as tight a turning radius as a
Sportster. 8-} Still, for its size and weight I found it pretty easy to
    manuever.

The ultimate test was when the wife saw it - she was pleased that I didn't
go for a (lower cost) Sportster again but went for something more easily
seen. I didn't want to spoil the moment for her...

A couple additions coming soon - a set of air horns. The stock horn isn't
as bad as the stock on the old bike but it's not going to get many
people's attention either. Rainbow strobe and higher wattage bulb for the
headlight. Driver and passenger back rests. A stop/turn light combo for
    the tail lights.

All in all an excellent day. I kept humming "back in the saddle again..."

BTW - there's a pic of me on the bike courtesy of Mike@Full Boar posted on
    my web page at;

    Bill Cattell sed:
I wouldn't think it'd be that noticeable... especially since the rake is
less on the RK (isn't it?). I can lock the bars on my RK and complete a 360
(with the help of the clutch and enough revs and VERY slow speed and swing
my knee way out of the way of the bars), but it's almost impossible to do
with the Dyna. That front end gets heavy because of the rake difference.
As a matter of fact, I can't ever remember doing a full 360 on the Dyna...
I'll have to give it a try again. I haven't practiced slow maneuvers in a
    long time.

Excellent! Glad to have you back on a bike.
Pleased you enjoy your RK, glad too you didn't
discover like I did that a 30 year old bike is the
only one with ergos you like.

History does not record anywhere at any time a
religion that has any rational basis. Religion is
a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up
to the unknown without help. But, like dandruff,
most people do have a religion and spend time and
money on it and seem to derive considerable
    pleasure from fiddling with it.

I've heard good things about Stebel Air Horns. I recently read about a guy
that mounted two of them on his RT!:

A bunch of us from here and there are going to Mena April 26th thru
the 29th just to ride and sight see and fellowship. Its one of those
get there when you can and leave when you want type deals. I believe
most are staying at the Sun Country Inn. Come join us if you can.

Out the door price was about 13K. I decided on an extended warranty (yeah
    - I know - they're mostly sales hype but I know i'm not gonna have much
time to work on it myself). 13K for a 4 yr old bike with 12K miles on it
    - a good deal in my mind.

Damn, I'd like to, but that weekend is my wife's B-day. I'm bettin'
she'll decide that we're going somewhere by ourselves. Probably more
to the north than Mena, we went to Hot Springs last time we snuck off
    together.
