First race at Castle Combe

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by stephen.packer, Nov 22, 2009.

  1. So, raced at Castle Combe today. First time. Three (and a bit) circuits
at about 16 and a bit minutes a circuit. Not so bad really. Would have
preferred to have done them about 20s a circuit faster.

    Pissed it down with rain.

Suppose I shouldn't be that disappointed, I'm not as young as I was and
the wind was blowing quite hard.

Heh. Not much chance of cocking off and hurting yourself
at that kind of speed ;-)

Mind you, I bet they still make you go for a noise test first...

  3. Actually no noise test at all. Quite busy, I think there were about 200
or so people racing. Rather disappointed that I got lapped right at the
end of my second lap (and as the winner finished his third).

  4. Actually I didn't. Ran 5k the following two days.

I should have ran harder but the 'chip' time was just under 51 minutes
so given the wind happy enough.

Will run there three times next year. Plan to do better in less windy
conditions- target is to get under 48 minutes.
