  1. This morning, 20 yards from home. I was going about 5 mph and the bike
slid out and i cushioned its fall. No damage to bike, I've got a slight
graze on my leg and a dead leg. pride is a bit dented though, especially
as it was in front of 2 attractive girls who helped me up and then
watched as I pushed the bike back home... Ah well, serves me right for
being cocky about not having dropped it last night on the way home, but
I'm pleased as punch that I didn't buy the priller 125 as it'd have been
    more expensive...

FBOTY? Glad you're not too damaged though. Wouldn't your dead leg
permit you to ride it home?

    For 20 yards?
    Hardly worth risking more embarrasment.

    not even close.

I'm not on the rules committee, but I'm pretty sure a "bin" has to
involve serious damage to the bike and/or rider.

Oh yes it certainly would have!

Doesn't FBOTY need to be over a certain financial value? IIRC it was to
stop the O'h look I scratched my bar end at 12:01 1/1/XX getting the
    award.

  6. Hmmmm, what time was the bin? Looks like there may be two of us fighting
over the dubious distinction of FBOTY :(

<fx clears throat, stands humbly before assembled throng>

My name is Andy Ashworth and yesterday I binned it <sob>

Yesterday afternoon at 1525, while in transit from Derby to home, having
left early because of the snow, my bike was involved in an unintentional
interface with the tarmac (more accurately the shitty slush covering the
    tarmac).

I had travelled nearly 25 miles with no problem, until I hit a more severe
patch of snow just North of Ashby; I left the A42 and ended up behind a very
slow van, which promptly slowed more, my engine coughed then caught, the
rear wheel spun and over I went :(

Damage, on first inspection looks surprisingly light - I think the plastic
bots survived, however, the mounting point for the gear linkage and foot-peg
has sheared off completely, hence the bike was unridable.

My call to the RAC was logged at 1530ish, and the recovery wagon eventually
turned up at 1800 - during the intervening 2.5 hrs, I was standing by the
road watching the traffic slide past, witnessing at least one collision
between two cars and freezing my bits off in the blizzard.

A big thumbs up to Hein Gericke for the waterproof and warmth retaining
abilities of the All Seasons gear I was wearing.

I'm afraid that my SV went down at 1525 yesterday and is currently awaiting
parts from Sutton Motorcycles to repair

  11. I thought I'd push it as I was a bit embaressed... I always fall off two
wheeled things when there are girls about. Just discovered that my lunch
was a casualty. I ahve flat sarnies and my tangerine burst into by coat
    pocket.

    Tangerine down! MEDIC!

I told you to leave the bike at work, but would you listen? Oh, no! You
know best, don't you? Eh? Well, what have you got to say for yourself?
And now your lunch is all broken, I suppose you'll be wanting me to buy
    you another one will you?

****, it's lucky I'm not going to breed. I'd be a fucking *awful* dad.
