    Good work.

I'll have the SZR back on the road during next week (if my bolts
arrive), then I have a slower, 40something BHP bike to play on, which
    should even the odds.

Could be an interesting match when you lose the restrictor, as I'll be
    on the underpowered bike.

Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Lady Nina
Isn't it, though. Dave Corden[1] has something interesting to say on
this. Apart from the 'stop and have a quick break' stuff, there's much
to be said (when it all gets too much) for consciously sitting up,
taking a *deep* breath, thrusting your chest out[2] and settling
yourself for the next bit. It really works.
Oh, and I thought you was a lady. Ladies *never* spit.

[2] OK, I made that bit up. God loves a trier (apparently)

At last, something DG says that seems to me like good sense. It must be
    bollox then.

I was going to go LARPing, but presence of my ex at the event is
likely to be problematic. So I may pixiefest or I may sit and do my
    tax forms.

Oh yes. <first big smile of the day> The bit of road immediately
before the A70 and the rock was one of these. The B7078 or summat.
Just perfect. So close to everything.
This is on my list of things to do. Preferably on a long day. Can I be
the first to mutter about the nights drawing in?
From Tebay services up these went down to every 30 or so miles. Strong
    winds take their toll.
Did this. Even the thrusting my chest out. While all in tight MIB
Discreetly into a laced trimmed hanky is acceptable.
Coffee - black, 3 sugars, the one true drink.
    All men are trying.

Come on down. A bit of riding-type discussion would be a welcome
relief from the usual late-night bullshitting, together with the
presence of sufficient numbers of hands/workshop stands to support a
bike while you move around on it like a simulator.

And Ginge will do your forms for you while you wait ;-)

Indeed it does. JP put it nicely for me: when you're in the groove
and it's all flowing, fine. When you're not there, you're just not.
Everybody but everybody has days when the groove eludes them, when
everything is happening too fast, or it all just doesn't feel *right*.

Do the brave and sensible thing - slow down and concentrate on your
lines. Be as smooth as you can. Once you're set into making slow
progress on the right lines, being in the right gear at the right time
and seeing everything there is to see - then the speed will come.
Really? Not just the outer layer, one trusts?
We know how difficult it is to succeed, see. Persistence is the key.

This is not recommended, I've filled in tax forms incorrectly before.

They'll probably send some for the '05 tax year now you've had a company
    car....

Then they have you on the list forever!

They never knew about the car. It wasn't my car. It was a pool car
    that I had access to.
    Still hiding :)

It's usually only if you earn over a certain amount, or get certain
    benefits.

Or if you've ever been a contractor :)

    The certain amount being £28,800.

Or any combination of benefits that take you over that point, even on a
    lower salary.
