That'll be Italian optimism. There's no way on God's earth that those
power outputs are realistic. At least 10bhp down in both cases, I
reckon. I mean, well over 100bhp/litre from a little pushrod two-valve
    lump? Nah.

Probably 'massaged' and tests on perfect blue-printed specimens I agree.
Having said that, the top speeds were not far off for the claimed power
and weight, according to Saint Phil's amusing little graph in 'Tuning
    For Speed'.

I'm not surprised. It's a little pushrod Heron Head twin. IIRC that
works very effectively in small engines.

IIRC the German TÜV measured the Strada at 27bhp so the crank figures
    aren't that far off.

I think I will get the Yamaha RD250 coz its under 33bhp and will keep
    my CG for daily use

and use the Yam for fun at the weekends?

  6. Now starts the fun of trying to find a good RD250 for less than, say, a
    grand.
It'll fit the bill, no mistake.

Aye quite! not as silly as the 400's though
I used mine over six months of riding from Manchester to Leyland each
day and Glasgow each weekend. I think I had it for 2 years in total.
Also used it for despatching. Completely bulletproof and great fun.

A decent porting job made it really perky without any downside. Only
became unreliable after the inevitable fitting of Spannies.
