    Bad form blah blah.

It was great! SWMBO and I got onto the wheel about 2 minutes before the
fireworks started. Superb view of the display, superb view of London,
    great weather.

FWIW yes, the wheel does stop every now and then as old/disabled people
get on or off. It stopped maybe 2 or 3 times while we were on.

This fireworks thing is part of the Lord Mayor's Show, which is on the
    second Saturday of every November.

  2. You must've been very, very close to us. I suppose we were about 3 pods
up when it started. Well worth it and the queue moved surprising
    quickly.
It didn't stop much (once I think) when we were on it. Once, I think,
when we were almost at TDC.
That must've been when the poppy thing was on the Shell Building.

SWMBO reckons we were 2 pods up, so we must have been (very
    approximately) 20 people behind you.
Thanks in large part to that Jamaican steward who rushed everyone
along... nice of him to do that.
Yes, that's it. And it wobbled a bit at that point.
    I've a feeling that's been going all November- I've a feeling I saw it
on telly. It's really impressive, projecting a moving image all over a
    building that size.

  4. You were probably in between us and the four or so lads that were
talking loudly about snap-on tool boxes and grease guns.

We were about 12th to go into our pod.
I did think about jumping the queue as there seemed to be no point in
waiting as you could just join the queue of people on the other side of
the concourse. I'm glad I did though, it made the whole thing more
    exciting.
I never noticed the wobble until someone pointed out "It's windy out
    there, isn't it"

Looking down made me feel a bit queezy, too as did focusing on anything
    like the ladders outside.
It looked good. It reminded me of tomato ketchup sliding down a greasy
    plate[1] :)

[1] That wasn't meant to be funny, it really did.
