I have a Fender Extender purchased from the NEC. It comes with 4
self-tapping screw but I am reluctant to screw it on in case the original
    fender cracks.

Can anyone recommend a type of glue that will be effective at gluing 2 bits
of plastic together and is waterproof/weather-proof?

The fender will crack if you try putting the screws straight in.

Drill holes in the fender first - put insulation tape over the the drilling
points to stop the drill slipping

I did this on my TDM850 - worked a treat. Only needed 2 screws.

And while drilling the holes, do not put your finger behind it to support
    the mudguard...

Alternatively use a soldering iron to melt in the holes with no chance of
    cracking.

No glue will hold them together: the constant vibration will have them

I'm waiting for curium to ask about the little strip of double-sided
tape that always comes with them - the one that is good for holding it
together while you drill the holes, like ;-)

I used araldite glue on the fender extender for the fazer, works a treat
and no probs. Have to roughen both contact sides first.
