....those who were performing as it were, at the Ace Cafe around lunchtime
    today.

Having never been there before, I was quite taken aback with just how many
bikes were there... and at the same time, pleased to see a lack of police
presence, even though some of the stuff being done on the road outside would
have been of interest to them, and quite possibly the attention of a few
health and safety nazis, had they been present.

Some really nice bikes too - a turbo'ed Hayabusa with a stretched swingarm
particularly caught my, (and several others), attention.

Quite refreshing to see a meet along these lines being left alone, anyway.
    :)

I saw something on the rat bike zone about an Ace Cafe thing. Was it a
meeting, or just another Sunday afternoon thing at the Ace?

I've never been before, so no idea how busy it normally is on a Sunday, but
there were bikes parked on the footbridge opposite, never mind any grass
verges and car parks, right past the traffic lights to the west side of
    there.

They turned up en masse later
Some of the fuckwits got my attention, never mind the safety Nazis. A
packed, tiny, public road is not the place to practise your shitty,
cack-handed wheelies. One guy in particular was heading towards a
massive crash into loads of people - he was simply fucking lethal - but
the Old Bill turned up and that was that

Unfortunately, the day's got far too big to be safe. Most of the riders
are okay, but there's simply too many people and no where near enough
    room

    Ah, right.

I had to clear off about 1.15, as my pillion had to be at work by 2.
    Indeed.

I can understand why they were pissed off, but some of the cagers passing
through were driving like cunts as well - and I'm not talking about those
who were doing the odd wheelspin, but those who were aggressively forcing
their way through, almost taking out some of the bikers on the road at the
    same time.
So this was a standard, nothing out of the ordinary, summer Sunday there
    then?

    *Impressed* :)

It was my misfortune to have arranged an RV there last Friday evening.
    Not my scene *at* all.

I only saw one BMW with 2 'Black Rats' in it, filming near the mini roundabout
from about 3 or so (unless I missed something else turning up).

From what I gather from staff at the Ace, the old bill would be more than happy
to let things run unmolested at this meet, but the one or two prats doing the
lethal stuff are likely to force a clampdown. Shame.

I've been there a couple of times before and found it dire, but Sunday
was far more entertaining, if only because it was hard to see anything
through the thick black clouds of tyre smoke.

On the down side, the video resolution on a 6230 is shite.

You weren't the guy on the yellow T plate CB doing burnouts, were you?

    Crikey, no!

Wibble-wobbling away whilst trying not to look too new to the whole thing on an
    R plate was me!

    Heh.

The nutter on the shite old CG125 with what looked like a small race can
tacked onto the downpipe was quite entertaining. :-D

You only need an R-plate in Norn Iron IIRC.

Funnily enough, I enjoy that sort of stuff at the BMF show camping
ground. It just seems sad, that for a lot of people at the Ace it
seems to be the epitome of the biking experience.
