I took the ST3 for its MOT today. After yesterday's problem with my hip it
was a struggle getting on and off it but as the MOT was booked I was
prepared to suffer a bit in order to get it done. It flew through - except
for the front brake switch which didn't work. Fecking Italian electrics -
the bastard was working yesterday! The switch seemed OK so ... back home,
and three allen bolts later I could get at the two bullet connectors that
connect the switch wires. Disconnected them then reconnected and it now
works fine again. I cleaned them up anyway to be on the safe side. I will
now have to wait until Thursday before I can take it in again as I can't get
    away from work tomorrow.

  2. Get a new switch. It failed on my SS last year - corrosion and suchlike.
Cleaning it up helped for a while, but replacement is yer best bet.

It was definitely the bullet connectors. Its working 100% now. I may
acquire a new switch just in case but I want to find one at less than the
£25 or so that ST switches cost from retail sources. Not that I can't
afford it but I resent the approximately £23 mark-up.
