Mitzi, our 'Felix' cat brought a mouse in tonight. Only the little
bastard hadn't killed it and when I tried to chase her out of the house
with it, she ran upstairs and released it into the bedroom.

Fast little feckers, those mice, too.... I've locked cat and mouse in
the bedroom to fight it out.

That's got to be better than some of the other little presents they can
    leave you ;-)

Hah! Mice are no problem. Shrews are smaller and faster (and bite!)
and voles are a much better meal. But overall rodents are OK. Birds,
OTOH, make a hell of a mess; feathers everywhere. Lizards are very
common with ours too, but they don't get eaten, just left lying around
or hidden in corners, usually minus their tails.

But the current favourites are grass snakes. Never really noticed them
before, but there must be loads of them around, 'cos one of our mogs
is bringing in two or three a day. Again, often they shed their tails,
leaving blood on the (tiled) floor, but they also often shit all over
the place, which is a right PITA to clean up.

Aye - last year she appeared to wipe out the entire local greenfinch
population. Bit of a shock the first couple of times, I was convinced
    she'd swiped someone's canaries.
Hmmm, don't think there's any snakes here - but the in-law's cats have
    been known to catch 'em.

Heh, my cat keeps on depositing lizards at my feet. He doesn't kill
them, unlike the mice, shrews and birds that he catches.

Mitzi, our 'Felix' cat brought a mouse in tonight. Only the little
You want to try stoats, especially very pissed off stoats.

    The cat looked very pleased with itself . . . . . .

and threw up everywhere. Disembowelled frog and cat puke everywhere.

  9. The fuckin fat lazy bastard that co-habits with us is too slow to catch mice
    etc.

What it will do though is catch slugs in the middle of the night.

She'll leave them on the upstairs landing outside the bedroom door as an
    offering to us.

The first thing you know about them is when they go splut under your foot
while your feeling your way down the hall on the way for a midnight piss.

Not nice. (But at least she doesn't crap or boff anywhere, thats probably
    her saving grace).

She's trying to kill you. Have you not noticed? Slip on a slug, break
your neck and the cat gets the house in the will.

    Great. Really.
I think if I wanted to wipe out the local wildlife population I'd just
buy an air rifle which at least would require some skill, and wouldn't
    need feeding.
