I have a spare bin, barrel, capper and associated brewing kit spare if
anyone's interested before I stick the whole lot on Ebay.

Well, the end results depend on the time, effort and quality of
ingredients that go into the bin.

But 2 litres of decent stout ain't cheap when you buy it in tins, and I
brew mine in 20L or so batches.

I wouldn't brew lager or any other such.

Not tried a bitter yet, but haven't seen one that I fancied making as I
have the Hogs Back brewery around the corner from me ;)

    Cheers

    Paul.

    <AOL> again.

Some of my rellies think my taste in beer is weird as I love ales like
Adnams' Broadside, Fullers ESB, Theakstons OP, etc. and detest the run-
of-the-mill bilgewater they drink, i.e. John Smith's Yorkshire Bitter,
Tetley, and, worst of all, Sam Smiths - yech! Mind you, they do live in
    S.Yorks.... :)

In a nutshell, I don't like bitters or "milds".

This week, I have been mostly drinking Batemans "Rosey Nosey" and
Charles Wells' "Christmas Cheer" both of which are rather excellent and
supremely quaffable. Wells in particular, seem to have got their shit
    back together.

If the bin's kept closed, it's not too bad.

The only time my place stank as a result of brewing was when I inadvertently
managed to pour 5 gallons of unfermented wort on the kitchen floor. It went
under every kitchen unit, every appliance, and reeked to high heaven for
weeks, if not longer. At that point the easiest option was to move out.

Bitter is an ale with low carbonation and abv under 4%. ESB is strong
enough to floor an asbestos elephant.

10 Gallons of 1977 Elderberry bubbling nicely in an old acid jar in the

I saved two gallons, the rest went through the highly energy efficient
sound deadening award winning partition wall straight into a similar
cupboard next door where the kids toys were kept.

Then there was the fizzy pineapple that I didn't know was fizzy when I
bottled it that we kept under the bed which blew it's corks in the
middle of the night. Shame really cos that was a nice one.
