I hear you, I've been on that end of the stick too.
I'm an electrician. Looking in the paper includes
    monster.com/hotjobs/etc.

When I quit the power company I went to school, received an AA in
electronics engineering and went to work for a small company that made
computer controlled radio equipment. I was there for 13 years. Things
went down the tubes and in the end it was the owner and I trying to keep
    it viable.

We both ended up at Cylink doing various things involving data
    encryption. That lasted 5 years.

I struck out on my own doing electrical work and determined it sucked
and went to work for someone else.
Thanks. We'll make it through this.

If all else fails, we can chop down a few trees on our property in CO
    and build a cabin.

    Not to worry.

After my crash, they x-rayed my leg and found a smallish foreign object
in my left leg. The doctor asked if I'd been shot or whatever thinking
it may have been something along those lines. I assured her that I
hadn't and it was probably aliens that chipped me.

    'Course.

You can hold your breath all right now, since the op, right? Luggage
rates are much nicer, but the inflight service is a bit crap.

Hope something comes up for you a bit more locally, mate.

It seems to have, at least to a certain extent.
Not to mention that you'd end up with a place near Disney, that should
    depress prices even more...

You probably were but shall I ask some of the welders when I see them
in the morning? The coded welders will have been on the top money but
it'd probably have been piece work so not really relevant.

In your dreams it is. The top money is being earned on new build
tower blocks in the city. That'll change in about 2 years time but
right now that's the way it is.

That's my saving grace. I have enough stashed away so I don't have to
    panic.

I don't think so and I don't think either you or I ever get up on their hind
legs for any employer or other party.
I'm not beholding to anyone, I don't have to take any shit from anyone.
Having been in the other place often enough I know how different it is.

    They only chipped one leg?

When they come back with the remote control they can have hours of fun
making you run around in circles.
