I don't know what to say, too much silver on the table for one thing
    though.

I've got a sugar spoon, which is in fact a sugar shaker. It's shallow
and fairly wide, some way between a tea and a soup, and has little
holes in it, so you can shake the sugar into your beverage of choice.
I think it's great, though I don't take sugar in anything.

  9. I'm afraid so. No-one will ever come to another of your candlelight
    suppers.

    No kidding?

Last night I searched my digital camera in vain [1] for a photo of a
set of footprints in the deep snow, disparing behind a tree to a plot
that will be forever England. The caption was going to be "It's not
just bears that shit in the woods".

[1] piece of shit. Half the time it doesn't take a bloody photo, and
when it does it's usually rubbish

    I believe it's more-or-less mandatory for ex-pat Brits.
Bet he drinks gin slings, plays croquet, grows a moustache
calls himself 'the colonel' and dresses for dinner too.

Well, he calls everybody else "colonel", but apart from that I think
    you're spot on.
