Must be. Personally, I don't go into restuarants to have a bath.

Just for future reference, the American's don't use what we call soup
spoons to eat soup but use dessert spoons?

In other words they only have one type of spoon for both jobs -
    "multispooning"?

In my kitchen, I have tea spoons (small) and table spoons (large)[1].
I use the small ones for brekkie and the large ones for every thing
    else[2][3].

[1] No, I don't know how they were named.
    [2] I don't know why, I just do.
    [3] Including soup.[4]
    [4] Unless it's tomato soup and I drink it from a mug.[5]
    [5] A habit I got from SWMBO

Gosh. Even I've got five types of spoon (for use on a table). Six if I
include the long handled pickle spoons.

muddycat emerged from their own little world to say

From OED: table spoon: a spoon (larger than a dessert-spoon) for serving
    vegetables, puddings, etc. at table.

You must have a big gob :)

I don't know about you, but I don't go in there for a rest.

I think it's just indicative of Americans' general prude-ishness.

My Dad was telling me about an American version of the bible where it
says that "Jesus entered the cave, and went to the bathroom".

  12. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
Gentlemen should please refrain from flushing the toilets
While the train is standing at the station for a while.

If you desire to pass water, you should holler for a porter
And he will place a basin in the bog.

The tramps and hobos underneath get it in the eye and teeth
But that's what comes from being underdog.

    I don't either, but I didn't name it.
No doubt. When I lived in Germany, I remember stopping by the side of
the road for a piss. Doing that here would get you arrested.
They just made that up, didn't they?

    I hadn't included sugar spoons as they're just jumped up teaspoons;
anyway we use tongs. I had forgotten about the little salt spoon we've
    got somewhere.
