A classic, I was too busy thinking about other stuff rather than driving
type thing. :( 40 minutes for the medics to turn up is not too good
    either.

    Hope things sort out quickly.

Why do they do that? Why the **** don't they just floor it and try to make
    room?
Get well soon, both of you.

Hopefully her insurance will pay out big stylee for you both, not that that
matters much now or when you still hurt, but at least it's an 'honest'
    claim, IYSWIM ... ;)

So sorry to hear this. Hope you both have a speedy recovery.
Good grief! Where were they coming from FFS?!

Guess that's one of the benefits of living in/near London.

Rabbit in headlights syndrome I suspect.

Mind you, Pedestrians have a nasty habit of running backwards and
forwards which is equally annoying, so just when you think you're aiming
    for the gap....

  5. Somewhere around 62K, may have been just short of 63, I honestly can't
recall. That of course kills the value, whereas with a car it would be
    normal mileage for the age.

Aye. If she'd been able to see you she could have reversed over you
while you were having your little lie down.
    <sucking eggs mode>

Take pictures. I see you've got one, but get plenty. The scene from
both sides and both viewpoints (yours and hers); the approaches; the
road surface; any marks you may have left on the road; pics of your
damage, clothing damage and that to the bike. Do not throw anything
away - scraped lid, fucked gear - stick it in a box in the loft, 'cos
they may want to see it before they pay out on it.

Get pics of all your (and sprog's) injuries - and 'progress' pics as
you heal and the bruises change colour. Copies (or originals) of
    X-rays can be useful too.

Seriously - the more ammo you have and the more angles you can cover,
the more likely they are to roll straight over.

When I had my WVM off, the assessor looked at the bike within a week
and I had the offer of the /full/ market value in two weeks. The TP
InsCo wrote to my insurers within two weeks taking full responsibility
and to me with a cheque for the excess at the same time - my NCB was
restored at that point. It's a good starting point, and the personal
injury claim was pretty much a formality after that - although I
dragged it out for my own benefit (six months of physio on the knee
started six months after the crash, for example).

My sincere commiserations to you both, but especially to sprog. Don't
let it put her off. The very best of luck, mate.

I still think this helped speed up my case more than anything.

The plod had the pics, both insurance companies etc - you couldn't really
    argue it :)

    Probably one of 2 things:

Rabbit in the lights syndrome (as mentioned elsewhere).

    Or

'If I sit still, maybe the poor **** I'm trying to kill will be able to
decide on the easiest way round this lump of shit I'm sat in'. They simply
don't realise that if you're hard on the stoppers, with a pillion up, there
is practically (absolutely?) NO WAY you're going to be able to steer round
    them.

As Bear mantioned, euthanasia can't simply be dismissed in some cases.

    GWS both.

    <Nods in approval>

    Best way to do it.

I've just bought an accident damaged GPz550 to rob for parts for mine
(side panels, rack, whatever else is better)

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4574299101&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1

for a song, as you can see. I'm simply going to break it and flog what
I don't want (as you can see, it hasn't got a V5 anyway).

If you have the time and space and tuits to pull the Fazer apart piece
by piece, it's the way to do it.

I really, really hope the blind bitch gets roasted.

Get another speedo off Ebay, take a hammer to it to "match" the rest of
the bike, and bolt it on. ;-))
