Requested a test ride at my local Harley Davidson emporium.

In my defence, I got an email from them out of the blue asking me if I
wanted to, so it'd be rude not to, wouldn't it.

Anyway, I have expressed a preference for a Buell (big bugger version).

  3. I'm giving _serious_ consideration to test riding a K1200 GT .. but I know
that if I do it, I'm not going to sleep until I buy one .. and I'm not
fucking rich enough to buy one. 16000 EUR ? Who the **** do they think
    they're kidding ..?

  6. you need no defence, for your style of riding and needs - you'd get on
    great with a hog/cruiser.

I can have much more fun pushing a cruiser right to it's limits than I
can on the bandit. Although on the bandit it's much faster fun admittedly.

If you are trying either the 12S or 12R you will have a really fun time.
I rode the R a while back and loved it. A google for "gyp xb12r vtr1000"
    will find it.

Thankfully the dealer let me and a mate out unescorted so we were able
to play rather than ride slowly in a crocodile.

I'm sure I'd probably prefer a 12S for day to day use as it's a lot less
extreme from a riding position pov and no doubt even easier to stunt.

But then TOG told me that they depreciated worse than a very depreciatey
    thing so I decided against.

I like the quirky look of Buells, but there's no way I'm buying at the
    moment.

That's right, Dan. Of *course* you're not going to buy one. Not you. Oh
    no, siree. Not ol' Dan.

    When you get it, CIHAGM?

ISTR seeing it at the Black Horse some time ago; at idle it was
*blurred* - it was like looking at it through someone else's glasses,
I couldn't make out any fine detail. The Rampant Rabbit of

What *are* you wibbling on about, you silly man? It's a Buell.

It doesn't *have* any fine detail.

I don't think he has full control of his wallet IYSWIM, therefore I think it
unlikely we'll be seeing any posts asking about how to run in a Buell
    without stuff falling off

I have to say that compared with my industrial Rampant Road Drill, the
XB12R was totally civilised; only marginally less civilised than a
VTR1000. OK, it's not in the CBR600 league, but I was genuinely
surprised at the smoothness and willing to rev without doing your
    fillings in.

As you have spotted, the earlier Buells were somewhat different!
