wessie wibbled...

A slight pain in the arse, but getting a new web quote, ringing them up and getting them to "cancel your current policy at renewal and taking out the new policy at the web rate" takes 5 mins, and that way they've still beaten every other genuine[1] quote I've had.
Fuck em. If they can't get the price right first time then they don't get my business.
They've paid out <takes socks off> £24.5k between home and motor insurance to me with absolutely no problems. I don't have that confidence in the others providing hassle free claims, plus being cheap. Not saying others aren't as good as DL, but I know DL are IYSWIM.

[1] Not including the Confused.com/etc quotes that mysteriously go up by 10~ 15% when you click through to the insurers site.
The aggregators use a standardised form. Some companies ask additional questions. The answers to these questions may affect their attitude to risk. IME, most of the final prices are pretty close to the figures quoted on the aggregator sites. You must have a complicated risk profile...
No suprise! It was one in particular which jumped up a shed load. I emailed Confused and let them know. They did get back to me and said their providers shouldn't quote more than x% away from the prices they show, asked me for details and said they'd get back to me with the results. They did get back with the helpful info "sorry, they can't give us any answer why it happened". Plus confused.com really fuck me off when they ring you the next day and say "Oh Mr Sir, would you be interested in us trying to get more discount on any of the quoted prices?" No, fuck off, I wouldn't. Get it right the first time. At least with DL its easy to see the lowest price, they don't bloody hide it until they think they've lost the business.
