I'm after a factory built bike trailer to bung me transalp on, gonna go
around scotland this year (if we can make it more than 3 miles from hime
without twatting a car up the arse this time that is)

i was gonna build a bike trailer, but found out you can't get insurance to
cover a bike on a home made trailer,

I like the look of the erde single motorcycle trailer,
    http://www.westerntowing.co.uk/acatalog/motor_cycle_trailers.html
looks nice and substantial, well known make so should retain value when i
want to sell it when i finaly sell the motorhome. but i dont want to pay the
£339 which is the cheapest i've seen one going for.

Anyone know of anyone selling a good second hand single bike trailer of a
similar design to the erde ones?? been looking at fleabay, but there's a lot
of shite on there, and firms selling the big name trailers for more than you
can get them for by walking into a shop (one **** wants 65 quid delivery and
    wont allow collections)

Somewhere in the east mids would be ideal, but swindon or northants way is
good too as me dad works in those places.

Why don't you just ride the bike instead of using a trailer?

I know it's a bit way out there as an idea but the point of bikes is
to ride them and not tow them around like a fucking caravan.

'cos i want to spend 4 or 5 weeks in scotland, and want to ride around
scotland whilst having a comfortable base in the form of my motorhome up
there, i've built and paid for my motorhome, so i'm not about to start using
hotels, B&B's, or tents just yet,

Next year when i sell the motorhome i will get a tent and go camping on the
bike, but this year i'd like to do as i've done before, and drive the
motorhome to a nice area, park up, and ride the bike about for a week, then
    move on and repeat.

Surely you can cut a hole in the back of that and shove the bike inside.

Please dont give me ideas like that,
i have thought of turning it into a toy hauler, but the bathroom is at the
back of my motorhome, and i dont want to give up the washing machine, vanity
sink, laundry chute, wardrobe, drawers etc, and be left with just a bog and
shower measuring 2 feet by 7 feet, as i'd need 4 foot to get the bike in and
be able to get in there to strap it in place.

A two-three bike trailer is a much better bet. 'Swot I've got. It's
not much pricier than a single and you never know when you're going to
    need the extra capacity.
I've seen new trailers being sold at autojumbles for a helluva lot
    less than you've been quoted.

Thas a good idea, tho i'm not likely to need the extra capacity, it's make
it easier to sell on when i sell the motorhome and take up bike camping.

Now that's a fukin good idea, i never thought of autojumbles, bet i've just
missed this months newark one, i'll have a look when the next one near me is
and get down there, most likely place to get one at a good price as you say,
these shops seem to be taking the piss with their prices.
