And I'm somewhat puzzled by it. What's wrong with the original? Or did
it change for the k3 and he's just not specified it?

IIRC the K3 has those gay LED rear lights.

If you've got a white tail unit, it blends in easier. It looks nicer. You
    know, aesthetics and all that.
It would fit any of the GSXRs that look like my old (and dwb's current)
    GSXR600. I *think* that's the 01-03 600, the 00-03 750, and the 01-02
1000 - in other words, the next-latest of each of the GSXRs. I think.

I've got the case/mobo thing, but no memory. It's got integrated graphics
and stuff. Only downside is it's a little bit noisy, IMO, although I've got
a northbridge heatsink for it which will eliminate one particularly whiny
fan, and you can upgrade the heatsink fan very easily for a tenner, and even
get a quieter PSU for about £40. There's onboard graphics, sound and
ethernet, or you can stick in an AGP card.

I've also got an Athlon XP2000 processor, though you might be better off
with a cheapo Duron, which will help it run cooler and quieter. And a spare
DVD rewriter (but it's beige, and you can get nice silver Sony ones from
    Aria for not very much)

It's spare because I upgraded to a newer version of the shuttle with better
overclocking options[1] - let me know if you think it'll suit

does it really have a tv-out on board, as mentioned in that spec?
what sort of form factor PSU does it take? I've already got a quite
mini-atx one. Probably too big, mind.
I've got a nice black Pioneer DVD re-writer - that'd go with silver
    just fine.
for this machine, I don't actually have a need for speed. The big
question is how much you want for it.

IIRC, yes. In fact, definitely yes, cos you have to set the TV standard in
the BIOS. Never used it, though. Graphics on board is a Geforce 4 MX 440.
Unfortunately it's a custom shuttle one - but they're not too pricey

Having seen what happens when people meddle with electrics on bikes, I shall
be leaving mine as Suzuki intended TYVM.

  13. I would love to say "look, it's the rear of the bike, you can't
possibily see it whilst riding, what's your problem, leave it!"
but I have changed the turbo[1].

And with you, I would have thought your experience with your chain
would have put you off fiddling...

[1] back to original, to be fair.

It's swopping a light lens, how fucking easy is that? Even my youngest
    kid could do it.

OK. Let me check that I've got all the bits, though (It's all in the "pile
of spare computer bits" pile at the moment)

This weekend, I watched with some amusement (once fixed) as DNC's bike
attempted to set fire to itself through the rear light cluster, which a
'previous owner' had assembled in a unique manner.

This was a change of lens and a light bulb.

I'll just add this reputation of mechanical ineptitude to the others :)

That is a one-off tail piece, made the owner's specifications. The
manufacturer thought it wouldn't work but the owner wanted it that
    way.

That's a whole different scenario to changing a fucking lense.
