TBH the value of any given item is what someone's prepared to pay for it.
In ten days, only one guy was interested enough to make a bid. Strictly
speaking, it's worth a hundred quid.

If he wants that kind of money for it then not on eBay. Putting a reserve on
AND starting at £100 AND having a buy it now for £190 is just putting off
bidders. (THey assume reserve is around £150)

A quick search shows (At time of going to press) 74 Belstaff Jackets on eBay
ranging from 99p with 4 days to go to £120.

I'd recommend e-mailing people bidding on this item on eBay " 6807674596 "
as two of them are having a bidding war.

platypus emerged from their own little world to say
That bidder was a merkin and has since bought another jacket so I doubt
    it's even worth £100 now.

The style is similar to the goretex stuff sold by BMW & Hein Gericke so may
go down well with the "Long Way Round wannabees" over on www.ukgser.com and
    www.advrider.com

You have to pay a sub. to put a post in the for sale post section of the
site. However, if you were cheeky you could put a link to an ebay auction
in one of the general forums which only require registration.

... but only if you want your eBay account toasted when one of
them complains of spam or "interfering with an auction".

Untrue. You are allowed to e-mail users as long as you do NOT say "Buy
    outside of eBay".

And it is not SPAM as it is directed at someone who is buying the same type
    of item already.

I do this with nearly everything I sell on eBay and I usually do quite well.

  11. You obviously have a different definition of spam to the rest of
    reality..

Not if you're punting an alternative product, even if you're going to
set up a BIN for them. You are interfering and they take a dim view
of it. I'm expecting the good Doctor Zoidberg along in a minute to
    give you chapter and verse.
Define spam for me then - without using the terms "advertising" or
"unsolicited email" as that is what you are sending.
    Your time will come.
