extra bike

I agree with you on that one. The VFR is a good sport touring bike.
Technically speaking, according to Aprilia that is what my bike is
supposed to be.....but let me tell you, I couldn't imagine putting
TONS and TONS of highway miles on it. It is definitely made for the
back roads and the track.

I was thinking about the torque, but that bike doesn't produce a lot
of it from what I understand. The heavier flywheel would make sense,
though - especially for smooth acceleration.

I don't think anyone disputes that Honda puts together a very well
made bike. Even if you don't like 'em, they are still a good bike.

Hope your wife(?) is OK with all this. You may have to buy her some
nice toys before it's all over with.
