I've got all the parts to get my little beast back on the road and stop
relying on the cagers to get around.
I need more advice. One of the sections that seperate the cush rubbers and
metal inserts in the back tyre, disappeared when the circlip let go and
spewed the cush rubbers forth onto yonder road.
Can I just put new cush rubbers and metal inserts in and slap it all back
together? Or should I replace the whole shebang? The missing chunk of
metal (aluminium seperator) is what concerns me the most.
I know I asked a variation of this question before, but my mechanical skills
    are degrading with age.
    Cheers,
    Jim waiting to ride again

Yes, you really do need all the parts that were present way back when
Mr. Honda pushed it out the door...

Jim_CB400N let forth with a mighty belch and uttered :

That bit of metal transmits the drive from the sprocket via the cush
rubbers. It may also be part of a structural web.

You really need all bits present and correct. Try a local engineering shop
to see if it can be welded back into place. I wouldn't risk it.
