  2. I've heard they're good value. You get a bike that's been pretty well
looked after, serviced regularly, not too old, BMWs don't mind being
    thrashed.

And as a bonus other drivers will think it's still a cop bike and will move aside for you when lane splitting. ;-)

think of the fun you could have!!!!! <evil evil grin>

I have a couple of friends who bought ex cop-bikes and they were very
happy with the condition of the bikes AND the price they paid for them.

The problem with people thinking you're a cop is that they change their
behaviour as you approach. They slow down and get in your way, hover in
adjacent lanes in blind spots and are too scared to pass, etc. It's
very bloody annoying in a car, probably not quite so bad on a bike.

you should see how bad it is when your actually are the cops trying to get
    somewere quick

what do these people think we are going to give them points and money if
they do 15 under the speed limit!

  10. Bit hard to expain why you take a hair dryer out with you though.
"oh it doesnt get out of the bathroom very much, so I'm taking it for
a ride". OR "it was hitch hiking down the road to visit another
hairdryer and i stopped to offer a lift".

They are paranoid because they are worried that they might drift 4kph over
the limit (due to their 'ordinary' speed control) so they sit 15kph under so
they won't get booked (like they did last month by the camera for 64 in the
    60 zone).

The fact that there is a police vehicle 'hovering' just brings all that
    closer to the surface...

  12. What do you mean by that? You are looking for one, or you have one with
    110,000kms to sell.

    Had two, fine bikes.

I wasn't 'blaming' you MB, and the situation certainly isn't your fault.

But the increasing amount of 'paranoia' in lots of the general populace
is a result of the high enforcement for speed limits that various
    governments have undertaken.

I geuss they'd say that is an acceptible side effect :)

    is it working?

    are road deaths lower?

is the state revenue budget bigger?

Depends on your definition of working doesn't it ? Is it doing what they
loudly proclaim are their reasons for aggressive enforcement (reduce
    road toll).

    Nope.

Nope. Extremely weak statistical correlation between ever increasingly
    severe penalties and road toll
    He's not silly this one.
