Eurotunnel faux pas

If anyone else has received the email from Eurotunnel 'encouraging' you
to get the bike out & go to the Le Touquet beach race, you should
probably know the race has been cancelled.

I've emailed Eurotunnel to point out their mistake, & asked for a free
crossing in return. Fingers crossed...

 

This is the "last ever" Le Touquet beach race?

It was supposed to be. The mayor of Le Touquet decided to ban it after
this year, so the organisers have basically done a '**** you' & pulled
out.

 

Heh.

 

It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Preston Kemp"

****'m. There's plenty of other little villages and towns that would
welcome the event.

He's a silly twat, then. I stayed in a hotel in Stella Plage, with SP,
post Chimay. I got chatting to the owner - turns out the Yamaha works
team used that hotel every year. Had a good few bits of memorabilia
dotted about the place.

He mentioned the race possibly going down the chute and said the mayor
was totally at odds with the people over this. I get the feeling he
will be voted out ASAP and will be made very unwelcome anywhere in
town.

Typical of the bloody French - you just can't trust 'em! I can't wait
to see how it turns out - one of the biggest sporting events in the
world being organised in a little over a week by people who have never
done it before - good luck to 'em!
