I'm going to be taking the bike to France for a few days in the summer and
thought it best to add the cover to my existing RAC breakdown cover.
Feck me! they want 42 sovs for 5 days cover. Now, am I being pikey here or
does that seem a little on the pricey side?
If anyone can recommend breakdown cover cheaper, shout up please.

The best I have got so far, is 24 ukp with Britannia Rescue. A big
    difference on the RAC.
I will be renewing my insewerance before I go, so might have a look at
    auntie nash for both bikes.

Try Direct Line or else Britannia Rescue advertises it from ukp17.

It's also free with many insurance policies - try Auntie Carole next
    time.

  4. Buy it off the ferry company. Ask them a few questions about the terms
but IMHO the quality of the cover is better and it's cheap.

AA and RAC don't even cover you for recovery if you crash IIRC.

    Give NCI a ring on 0870 9012999.

They have much cheaper cover, including full breakdown cover, with the
only catch being that if you run out of petrol they wont help you(!).
They even include comp cover for you if you are driving another bike.

That's correct, the AA charge a £50 remove from hedge fee even if you're
    a member.

Greybeard emerged from their own little world to say
As you say, look into the Carol Nash insurance for your bike as your
renewal is before departure. You can buy an equivalent [1] annual breakdown
cover for about 60 quid from Quoteline Direct.

In my case the C Nash quote was about 40 quid more expensive than a policy
without breakdown cover from Bennetts. Effectively save 20 quid.

The only drawback of the QD policy is you would lose the personal cover
that the RAC gives you. I have C Nash cover on my bike & QD cover on my
car. Therefore, Euro cover on both vehicles costs me about 100 quid which
is a lot cheaper than just UK cover from the RAC.

[1] 12 months breakdown cover in the UK and up to 60 days[2] in Europe
    underwritten by Europ Assist
[2] per trip, no limit on the number of trips

    Lookee here:
    http://www.moneysupermarket.com/RoadsideRescue/CarDetails.asp

It is for annual cover only, but fill the form in and when you get to
the end make sure the policy covers bikes.

  12. As do Britannia Rescue now, the cunts, SWMBO found some black ice over
Christmas and stuffed her car into a ditch[1] not far from home. BR
quoted me £80ph to come out with approx 3hr minimum to get there and
back. So we left the fucking thing in the ditch, a passing bod took my
eldest daughter home for her car. The next day I persuaded a local to
tow it out and parted with a couple of bottles of decent red wine.
