And can't find the keys for my Honda VF1000 F-II Bol d'Or which is a PITA
    as:

    a. it's hogging the middle of the garage

    b. I'd really like to get it MOT'd this weekend...

So, what are the chances of getting replacement keys? Are Honda UK likely to
be able to give me any pointers on a 21 year old bike from the chassis
    number?

    Hi Roger...

Funny you should say that - but after 10 mins of searching around the house
I thought 'must check they're not in the bike...

    And, no, they weren't (

Aah shame ... Hope you get it sorted quickly and cheaply.

One advantage of owning a shite old brit is that that the most
sophisticated ign key needed is a screwdriver, or lollipop stick.
    (Runs away cackling.)

Have you checked the seat lock as well as the ignition?

I went to change the air filter on the Z200 and discovered a spare key
hanging from a bit of wire under the sidepanel.

  9. which, of course, you'd not have known about if you'd lost the original.

I lost the keys to my old CB250RS when we moved house, so I just ripped
the ignition barrel out and started it using a screwdriver or a house
key. The keys turned up 3 years later, when we moved house again.

Thus spake Roger Hunt () unto the assembled multitudes:
Or the seat-lock (if there is one)? Done that myself too.

  14. That's how my GSXR750J got stolen, one sub-zero night, when parked
    outside Zürich University. :-(
