Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Halla
What like the Chip Shouldering Open? I used to hear this theory a lot
when I lived North of the border. I thought it was interesting, so I
took to monitoring sports coverage. I can now present the results of my
    research into this theory:

    It's Bollocks.

You are, of course, welcome to present any documentary evidence if you
    think that's not correct.

IME of observing people with some interest in sports when I have none,
    yes.
Typical reaction wishing a lack of success on your neighbour? Well it's
not something I understand. It seems petty and small minded to me.

Apart from the rather horrible, and unforgivable, use of the "brits"
phrase, I think that may have been his point.

    Ermm, it wasn't was it...

  7. So, just because it is a driving school means that it can use the
wrong words? Using the right words is important. Because the use of
the rong worms can make you're impotant.

It does not inspire confidence in their ability to teach anybody
anything if they cannot, themselves, learn how to use their own
    language correctly.
I wouldn't employ them to teach me or anyone else.

Apparently they will only take on _very experienced riders_ on their
    restricted licence course.

Because then you can claim they're British, and so practically
    English, of course! Duh.
I completely understand it.. but then whilst I was born in the West
Country, I have Scottish and Irish roots. My first sporting loyalty is
Somerset but when you go to country level, the Scots get my vote.
However, you're right that some people just don't understand it at
    all.

Some people actually "get off" highlighting spelling and grammatical
    errors.

I included the link because I owe the guys a favour, there's nothing
wrong with that. But to imply that the school is no good because they
are riding/driving instructors rather than web designers is a bit
    shallow.

For the record they have one of the highest pass rates in the country
and genuinley care about their students.

I surprise quite a few people, even myself.
Why, what have you proven? But there again.so long as it makes you feel
better. However, I don't really care about your opinions or indeed your
    logic [1].

You don't *have* to be a web designer to know how to spell correctly.
They're advertising themselves to the world, here; if they can't be
bothered to take five minutes to check the spelling, who is to tell
how careful they may be in other areas? This, of course, may be tosh,
but if you going to run a site to announce yourself to the world,
taking some effort to not appear slapdash/illiterate might be an idea.

If you feel you owe them another favour, you might wanna tell 'em to
    spell their checking.
I think we've unearthed the WebMeister.
