    California, ya gotta love it...

My company is San Diego based. Remember this if it comes to getting
    stuff "shipped" from the USA...

I thought about that - then I went out to have a fag and look at brake
carriers. There isn't eough meat outside of the ring of mounting
holes. The webs running out to the carrier from the hub come in too
close to the ring of holes and the "roots" of the webs would be
advresely affected by the heat of the welding process, IMO.

Make the webs brittle and they may snap when the brakes are applied
hard. That would not be a good thing and it is a risk that I feel is
very real and will not condone in any shape or form.

Oh yes. Particularly when seen from a yacht in the harbo(u)r. Suddenly
all the down-town architecture lines up and makes sense.

Croce's Bar in the Gaslamp rocks too.

Qualcomm took me somewhere in the Gaslamp region a while ago. Can't
remember too much about it though; think the meal was good, know the
barman kept the marguritas (prolly spelt wrong) flowing.

Hmmm. Dunno why it hasn't popped into my inbox, but anyway, thanks
for the advice - much appreciated.

Are you greetin' about the AT&T Wireless situation? the opportunities for
West Coast business would have been unlimited!

I'm rather glad I didn't take the offer to work for them when I dropped the
responsibility for the Wireless IT relationship. No doubt massive job losses
are on the way to Seattle, though the National Account Service I dealt with
is probably the jewel in the crown.

Did you promise to buy all your bodywork from him this season?

    Previously on usenet, Champ said...
Have you checked the PCD, diameter and offset against discs from
manufacturers other than Kawasaki. I have a book here with the disc
dimensions in it if you need it.

Dunno. I post but never get any replies. A sort of quasi-killfile
    experience, I s'pose.

You want me to get some? 3 RH threads and 3 LH? Do I need to know
    size? M6?

Yes, yes, yes and yes. That's assuming you're on the phone to Harris
anyway. If not, let me know and I'll get them.

  17. The father-in-law has a load of that sort of kit in the shed. Might be a
    bit heavy-duty for a race-bike app, though.

I'd agree. They *look* at first glance like a simple turning job, but
this whole area (quite frankly) scares me. I'm a much happier camper
knowing that there's a pro outfit behind the job.

If it was *my* arse on the line, I might think differently...
