"Following the acquisition of the Belstaff brand by Clothing Company Srl,
Phoenix Distribution will not present an updated 2005 Belstaff range to
    dealers and consumers next year.

This is due to the changeover of brand ownership and the fact that Clothing
Company have focused on developing a ‘fashion’ range in the UK for 2005."

Gone the way of other utility wear brands then.

"Phoenix will, however, be working with the Clothing Company during 2005 to
develop a motorcycle collection which they hope to have available for 2006"

No doubt made in China to dubious standards.

Where do you think Belstaff gear was made before? It certainly wan't in
the UK. Not everything that comes from China is of dubious quality you
    know.

  3. It certainly was in the mid-1980s, because I went round the factory.

That was 15-20 years ago. Most British badged kit was manufactured here
back then, even Frank Thomas stuff.

Lozzo emerged from their own little world to say
I didn't mention quality. To comply with EU regs the products would have to
be fit for purpose. I'm referring to the conditions under which the
products are made i.e. little consideration for employee rights or the
    environment.

The problem with waxed cotton clothing is how well it burns.
