I'm going to the NEC this week-end and want to look out for a can for my
2001 1200 Bandit, any recommendations on this would be welcome as I expect
a fair amount of choice, (I hope!)

    Thanks in anticipation

One with a hole at each end would be as good a place to start as
    anywhere, I suppose.

    Hmmm. Can for a Bandit?

It depends on the colour really.

I mean you can't have chrome cos that would look downright silly on a
Bandit anyway, although it might just work on a dark blue one if it was
    satin chrome.

Carbon being all black goes with anything but just look tacky so I
    wouldn't recommend one of them.

Stainless would be nice, it would fit well with the alloy frame and
stuff and if you made sure that you sized it right and had it pointing
at the proper angle it wouldn't overwhelm the back end of a light
    coloured bike.

Titanium. The only answer I think, not just for the Bandit but for many
similarly styled machines. The big thing with titanium though is to get
the colour right. You really only get the one chance at it so get it
heat treated properly by a professional before you put it on.

I think Art had a bandit 1200 on their stand with twin oval cans fitted.
Might be Akrapovic, I can't remember.

    Not really no.

Although perhaps I didn't make myself clear enough. I was referring to
lightly etched stainless, if that makes a difference?

Why the **** would ART, who make some pretty shitty exhaust cans, it has
to be said, have a bike with an Akrapovic system on their stand?

The frame on a Bandit is painted the same colour as the bodywork.

    Is it? How gauche.

I was in too much of a hurry it seems. I did go and research a little
bit though on the general shape of the bandit but failed to notice that
the only picture I looked as was a silver one.

    Next time though.
