Probably, but then being a married bloke has changed him. He has lost
    his balls.

A police 2.8 Granada was unrestricted, they were seriously fast
compared to a 105mph RD400. I'd stick my Gixer against a tweaked Skoda
    vRS any day.

    From Skoda's website:

    Max Speed mph [km/h] 143 [231]
    Acceleration 0-62mph 8

I don't care how much tweaking the police do, they aint gonna make that
car compete with a standard Gixer thou for straight line performance.

It's more to do with other factors, IME... traffic will help you immensely,
for instance, whereas rain will hinder you a tad.

That, and IIRC, isn't the official line now, not to chase bikers, lest they
overdo it, and harm an innocent tree, as the scumbag biker shifts off their
    mortal coil?

More than likely they won't chase 'cos ANPR will have you before they've
    made the decision to chase.

I've heard, and there is every chance this is bollocks, that the vRSs the
police get have the 225 spec version of the 1.8T, the same one that was,
apparantly, in the cars sent out to magazines and road testers. Again, this
    could all be bollocks.

My money would be on the radio in the skoda. You know, the radio that
    summons the helicopter.

You presume everyone has all their vehicles, registered in their name. ;-)

They don't appear to use those for mere traffic offenders, in these parts,
apparently reserving them for offenders who've done more than have two
wheels accidentally in the bus lane for more than so many yards.

I'm assuming most people do as most have tax and insurance on said
    vehicles.

Around these parts, especially at weekends, you'd be mad to try it. The
chopper would be all over you within a couple of minutes.

Even with 225bhp, it won't stay with a standard Gixer thou.

    160bhp/170kg vs 225bhp/1825kg

    No competition.

In a straight line, maybe - and then only just. Over 100mph the superior
aerodynamics of the car will see it do 100-150 mph at least as equally
    quickly as the bike.

Plus the car will carry a lot more corner speed.

Around here you'd struggle to find a copper to get to chase you :)

According to the database it was a SKODA OCTAVIA 1.8T (01 ON) RS 5DR
and for anyone in North Warwickshire, it is BX04CPK, silver.
I once outran a Granada without knowing I was being followed
but I didn't outrun radio waves.

**** off. The Gixer would make it look like the slow 4-wheeled
monstrosity that it is. You really don't have a clue, do you? Just look
at 1/4 mile times and 0-60 figures. The gixer will do 0-60 in about 2.5
seconds, find me any 4-cyl car that comes close. Ffs, I can power
wheelie my Gixer at 90 in 2nd.
You are having a fucking laugh. It's plainly obvious that you've never
ridden a bike that is in the least bit quick, or if you have you never
opened the throttle more than a 1/4 of its travel. 150mph comes up
stupidly fast, too bloody fast in fact. I've driven shitloads of
seriously fast cars, none comes close to my Gixer for performance.

According to the vRS microsite it does.

    Perceived performance.

Remember it doesn't feel as quick in a metal cage.
