Parking the bike at the station this morning I had a moment's
inattention after coming to a halt and preparing to back into a
convenient parking spot. The bike leant too far, I was wrong footed
and managed to slowly and inelegantly drop the damn thing to the
concrete. This hasn't happened since the mid seventies when my
flares got stuck over the kick starter. Damage to the bike was
minimal ( a broken mirror), damage to the wallet bearable (new mirror
$75), damage to my ego extremely high. Why do these things always
happen in front of a vocal and appreciative audience?

I think the only embarassment deserved here is your admission about the
    flares.

Well went to Macca's, kicked the stand out and rocked to the left
and guess what ? Stand wasn't down and down I went.

Not as embarassing as a safari suit. Bone coloured. Very stylish. Cut rather
a snappy figure on the XS650 if I may say so.

Things go around. These styles will come back. Mark my words.

    Hi
Well it always seems that without an "admiring" crowd nothing ever goes
wrong..... the way of life..... I have done the same thing in front of
a bank on a busy friday.

And when flairs were in, they also got caught on the kick starter and i
fell at a set of traffic lights in the middle of a busy town.... nough
    said.

I farted rather explosively in the workshop the other day just to annoy the
people who work hard to pay my salary.
Unfortunately the owner's wife had just wandered up behind me.
When I saw the look on everyone's faces I twigged that something was wrong,
so I whirled around and told her that I heard it but I think no-one else did
and I thought she had got away with it.

  11. How on earth do you manage a highside at 20 kph?

    Cheers

Biggus was close, cold tyre, right hand turn. I believe IK is familiar with
    the same concept.

I locked up and dropped my bike at a tram stop, centimetres from the tram,
with 200 commuters sniggering... "I'm right, happens all the time!"
