Electrical problem

    on batteries...
    I'm sure there's a smart-arsed comment in there, about Italian
    electrics not functioning long enough to drain a battery, but I
    wouldn't make it.

  2. bad earth, loose battery terminal, corroded wire etc etc

    first saw this on a 750 round case duke 10 yrs or so ago...bike was ok
    till you tried to leccy start or turned headlight on, then everything
    would die
    leave a few minutes...all ok
    turned out to be the earth strap from battery to frame. looked ok but
    was quite corroded
    it was not diagnosed until 'one last go' when the shed lights were
    out...and spark tracers ran up & down the wire
    replace wire, all good
