    <massive thread hijack>

    Dude can you recommend where would be the best place for my mate to take his
    new (to him, 54 plate, s'charged) Cooper S for a remap/pulley upgrade for
    circa 200 ponies? Or point us in the right direction for some reading up?

  8. I use GT Tuning, v.nice chap called Roland.

    http://www.gtt.uk.com/home.asp

    They have a very good reputation in the Mini2 community.

    There is a list of performance packages on the website, starting at a fair
    bit above £200, but give him a call if you know what you are after.

    They'll drop you into Blandford Forum whilst the work is being done and then
    collect you when its complete.

    Makes for a pleasant day out, some nice cafes and a stroll down by the river
    is a must.

    AMD Technik are also supposed to be good.

    I hadn't seen it, but an impressive take off.

    I also had a chuckle at some of the comments attached at the bottom.

    "Respect the Electric drill" [1]

    P.

    [1] He'd referred to it as a 'giant cordless drill'
