EHIC (formerly E111) expiry

    I just fished out my passport to present it for a CRB check.

    I noticed that the EHIC card inserted into it has just expired. Looking at
    other forums it appears that many other cards are expiring over the next
    few months. Apparently, they varied the validity period of the first batch
    issued to spread the renewal load. New ones will be valid for 5 years

    I got mine a couple of years back. It's valid until November 2010.
